Gigabyte G24F 23.8 inch 165Hz Full HD IPS Gaming Monitor is one of the most popular Gaming Monitor Manufacturing by Gigabyte. The Gigabyte G24F sports a 24-inch Fast IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 170Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms MPRT response time. The backlight has a 300 cd/m2 typical output while the contrast ratio is listed at 1000:1. This model isn’t HDR certified, but its spec-sheet mentioned that its DP slot is HDR-capable. The Gigabyte G24F is a wallet-friendly gaming monitor that focuses on the performance it can offer more than anything else. It features a fast IPS panel and an overclocked 170Hz refresh rate for smooth performance and pristine colors. The Gigabyte G24F uses the same aesthetic as its bigger siblings so it can look like an office monitor to some who don’t know about the brand. The device has a matte black finish and a glossy strip at the back so it looks timeless and it will not clash with themed setups. The display is bezel-free on three sides so you won’t get distracted while gaming even if there are inner borders. Coming to the display aspects and performance, particularly in gaming, the Gigabyte G24F is designed around the 1080p (FHD) segment and as such, it offers a refresh rate of 165 Hz that can be overclocked to 170 Hz. It comes with a backlight of 300 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. An input lag of 4ms is reported when pushing the monitor up to 170 Hz. At 1080p, the biggest advantage that you can get is that you will be able to utilize that higher refresh rate to its fullest considering you don't need lots of graphics horsepower to be pushing for 150-200+ FPS in the majority of eSports and competitive titles this monitor is aimed at. Compared to the standard monitors with 60 Hz, the monitor will provide an overall better playing experience. The Gigabyte G24F does lack HDR capabilities but it comes with a 99% sRGB coverage and 82% DCI-P3 rating which means that you will end up with a vibrant viewing experience. The edge backlight on the monitor is able to hit 305 cd/m2 when dialed up to 100% and the contrast ratio peaks out at 1124:1 at 60% of the monitor's brightness. This is pretty good for an IPS panel but compared to a VA or OLED panel, these are tiny figures. There was also a slight backlight bleed that's apparent in dark scenes but besides that, the viewing experience was blur-free, and even at 1080p, the gaming experience felt good.
